Thai Yoga Massage Practitioners Course (Weekend)

The course leads to a professional qualification that will enable you to practise as a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. It emphasises the very practical nature of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage and is in keeping with, and maintains the flavour and spirit of the eastern tradition.

No previous knowledge is required to start the course. To achieve the diploma qualification, you?ll need to show that you have an anatomy and physiology qualification. Alternatively, you can study our anatomy and physiology diploma in parallel.

What you’ll learn on the course?

Full body and face massage including:

  • Sen lines
  • Blood stops
  • Stretching
  • Applied yogic postures
  • Therapeutic points
  • Massaging in prone, side, supine and seated positions
  • Structuring a treatment
  • Client consultations
  • Clinic session

How long is the course?

The course is 12 days, and takes place at weekends. The first 12 days are over 6 months (about 1 weekend a month), then you will need to complete case studies and coursework, before returning for the exams.

About the coursework and exams…

  • The coursework consists of massage practice
  • After the first 12 days there are case studies to complete: 30 full body massages (a total of 60 hours practice), and a 1500 word essay.
  • The exam: there are 2 parts to the exam – a two hour practical exam and a written paper, also of 1.5 hours.

Thai Yoga Massage Advanced Practitioners Course

What you’ll learn on this course?

  • Lots more techniques, line work, stretches and therapeutic points
  • Full body massage including:
  • 10 Sen lines – Sen Sumana, Ittha/Pingkhala, Kalathari, Sahatsarangsi/Thawari, Lawusang/Ulangka, Nanthakrawat/Khitchanna
  • Sen line – advanced thumbing techniques
  • Blood stops – more applications
  • Advanced stretches – in prone, side, supine and seated positions
  • Applied yogic postures
  • More therapeutic points
  • Thai Yoga Massage in pregnancy
  • Clinic session – experience working on ‘real’ clients

How long is the course?

The course is 8 days over about about 3/4 months, then you?ll have 2 months to complete case studies before returning to sit the exams.
