ARE THE COURSES RECOGNISED?
Yes, all the diploma courses are accredited and recognised by relevant and notable examining bodies. The CPD workshops are worth 5 CPD points for each 1-day workshop.
WILL I BE ABLE TO PRACTISE PROFESSIONALLY BY ATTENDING ONE OF YOUR COURSES?
Yes, all the diploma courses lead to a professional qualification. On successful completion of written and practical exams you will be able to get professional indemnity and public liability insurance which enables you to practise professionally.
WHO GOES ON YOUR COURSES?
All kinds of people study on our courses – male and female, from a wide age range and from all types of different backgrounds. Some are looking for a career change, or doing massage to supplement their current income and others want to do a course just for interest.
HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN THE CLASSES?
The classes tend to be up to 16 students. During the practical aspects of the course there are usually 2 tutors, so the ratio is 4 students per tutor.
All course fees include course manual, exam fees (where applicable) and light refreshments. The Holistic Massage Diploma includes an Appointed Person’s First Aid qualification. The Aromatherapy Diploma includes a daytrip to Kew Gardens.
DO I NEED PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE?
This depends on which course you’re enrolling on. Holistic Massage diploma – no previous experience is required. Thai Yoga Massage diploma – no previous experience is required (although you will need to either already have an anatomy and physiology qualification, or be ready to study for this in order to practise). Aromatherapy diploma – you’ll need to have a massage qualification. Sports Massage diploma – you’ll need to have a massage qualification or a higher level anatomy/physiology qualification e.g. physiotherapy Indian Head Massage diploma – you’ll need to either already have a massage qualification or an anatomy and physiology qualification (for the 2 day course, no qualification is requires). Onsite Chair Massage diploma – you’ll need an anatomy and physiology qualification. Abdominal-Sacral Massage course – you’ll need to have a massage qualification. Most CPD (Continuing Professional Development) workshops – you’ll need a massage qualification.
HOW LONG ARE THE COURSES?
This depends on which course you do. Holistic Massage diploma – 22 days over 9 months (weekend course – 1 weekend a month), or 22 days over 5 months (fast-track weekday course held in 2 eleven-day modules) Thai Yoga Massage diploma – 13 days over 12 months (the first 12 days are within the first 6 months) Aromatherapy diploma – 20 days over 8 months (about 1 weekend a month). Sports Massage diploma – 15 days over 6 months (about 1 weekend a month). Indian Head Massage diploma – 4 days over 2 months. Onsite Chair Massage diploma – 4 days over 2 months. Abdominal-Sacral Massage course – 6 days over 2/3 months (including the exam). CPD (Continuing Professional Development) workshops – usually 1 day.
WHAT ARE THE TIMES OF THE CLASSES?
The Diploma courses start at 9.30am and finish either at 5pm or 6pm depending on which course. The CPD workshops usually start at 9.30am and finish at 5pm.
WHERE CAN I GET WORK AFTER QUALIFYING?
Most massage therapists choose to be self-employed, either on a part-time or a full-time basis. Some gain employed work in spas. Therapists work in complementary health clinics, physiotherapy/osteopathy/chiropractic practices, gyms/leisure centres, spas, hospitals, hospices, at their own home or visiting clients in their homes, or with sports teams/athletes. Many therapists choose to do a mixture of the above.
WHAT DOES QUANTUM METTA OFFER TO GRADUATES OF THE SCHOOL?
We are still available to answer any questions you may have even after you’re qualified. We send out all massage work opportunities that are sent to us by people looking for massage therapists. We also have a wide range of CPD workshops to help you further develop your skills.
WILL I GET HELP WITH TAKING EXAMS?
Rest assured that by the time you’ve finished the course and you’ve put in the study time, you’ll be ready to take the exam. We provide you with lots of exam-style questions and practise to help you, and we give you support and feedback on how you’re doing
DO I NEED ANY EQUIPMENT?
For the Thai massage course, you’ll need a comfortable mat or a duvet and a couple of cushions to practise on at home. For any of the other massage courses, it’s a good idea to get a massage table for your own and your clients’ comfort. You’ll also need oils to massage with, and towels. For the aromatherapy course, you’ll also need to get a range of essential oils for your home practice. For some of the exams you’ll need a ‘uniform’.
What do I need to bring to the course?
For most courses all you need to bring with you is a towel and a pen. For the Thai yoga massage course you won’t need a towel. After your booking has been made, we’ll send you a joining letter that will detail exactly what to bring with you.

Yes, you’re very welcome to visit us to see the venue, have a look at course materials, chat to the tutors and the students and even view a class in action. This can easily be arranged, just get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time/date.
CAN I PAY IN INSTALMENTS?
Yes, you can pay in instalments. We can work out an instalment plan with you on an individual basis.
