How long is the course?
A 4-day course for practitioners of complementary therapies who already hold a recognised qualification in massage therapy.
What will you learn?
You will learn how to confidently give an acupressure-based chair massage safely and effectively in a wide range of settings, including offices and events.
What is covered in the course?
- Massage of the back, shoulders, arms, hands, neck and head
- A sequence of acupressure points specifically chosen to help clients relax, release tension and feel refreshed
- Stretches to encourage better posture
- Percussion techniques to reinvigorate
- Use of good posture and body weight to apply effective pressure
- Conduct brief consultations to ensure the best massage for the client
- Client care and aftercare
- History of on-site Chair Massage
- Benefits and contraindications
- Review relevant anatomy, physiology and pathology
- Adapting the massage to 10, 20 and 30 minute sessions
- How to market to the corporate sector

What else?
Coursework consists of 50 documented 20 minute sessions.
There will be a final exam consisting of a practical session and a 1 hour written paper.
